The Opportunity

Carey Baptist College (Harrisdale) is seeking a passionate, highly skilled, and collaborative educator to join our team commencing in January 2027. This is a permanent full time position.

With knowledge of contemporary co-curricular practices, the Physical Education teacher will inspire a safe, engaging and challenging atmosphere, whilst promoting the College's vision, policies and procedures. 

Role Overview

• Establish clear and consistent classroom expectations and consequences to ensure a stable learning environment.
• Prioritise building respectful relationships with their students and genuinely strive to understand their students and their needs.
• Commit to evidence-informed practices, including clear learning intentions, structured routines, scaffolding, collaborative learning and dynamic questioning.
• Provide data-informed growth through expert feedback and differentiated instruction, ensuring every student is challenged to broaden their knowledge and skills.
• Maintain a safe learning environment in accordance with Child-safe standards and College policies, while upholding comprehensive Duty of Care responsibilities.
• Participate regularly in Christian worship and staff devotions, upholding the College’s Christian ethos in all professional interactions.

About You

• Thrive in a team environment and enjoy collaborating with like-minded colleagues.
•  Possess a strong background in Competitive Sport - we are also looking for staff that can lead developmental programs in Soccer, Basketball and Netball.
• Are passionate about Health and Fitness in a competitive inter-school and inter-house environment
• Have a bus license with passenger transport driver (PTD) authorisation
