Carey Baptist College is seeking a reliable and experienced cleaner to join our team as a Senior Cleaner.
This role involves regular cleaning duties across the campus as well as some additional responsibilities such as locking up the school, setting alarms, and assisting with the induction of new cleaners. The Senior Cleaner works as part of the team but does not have supervisory responsibilities.
The role includes:
- Cleaning classrooms, offices, toilets, and shared facilities
- Securing and locking up buildings, including activation of alarms
- Demonstrating cleaning procedures and safe work practices to new staff
- Reporting maintenance issues or concerns to the Cleaning Supervisor
- Assisting with periodical cleaning tasks and moving school furniture/equipment
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in commercial and/or school cleaning
- Is dependable, thorough, and takes pride in their work
- Can take responsibility for securing facilities at the end of shifts
- Works well independently and in a team
- Is willing to support and guide new colleagues
- Has a good knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices
- Is able to recognise and interpret Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions and safety guidelines
- Has strong English literacy and numeracy skills
