The Opportunity

Carey Baptist College Harrisdale is seeking a full-time Head of Department - Teaching & Learning on a fixed term contract for 12-month contract, commencing January 2025. The Head of Teaching & Learning is a leader within the Curriculum Team, primarily focused on supporting Department Heads and teachers in implementing and delivering innovative, rich, and engaging teaching programs and assessments. 

About the Role

This full time position consists leadership and teaching, this role consists of fostering an outstanding culture of teaching and learning,  emotional intelligence and exceptional knowledge of pedagogy, you will motivate and support both staff and students, integrating research, data and innovative practices into the core of education to ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

As Head of Department key responsibility include working closely with other HoDs and staff and provide mentoring and feedback. This position will support recruiting Practicum and Scholarship teachers, as well as leadership and guidance of student  journey from Primary into Year 7.
